Why isn't that X's and O's game called Tic Tac Toc instead of Tic Tac Toe?
Well thanks Bill I now know more about Tic Tac Toe than I care to admit attempting to discover the name orgins of how Naughts and Crosses came to have a toe. The search goes on but I feel compelled to share the following (I also found about 50 different names for it but I'll spare you those):

We know tic tac toe is from the group o games known as "windmill family" or "trail", in which the objective of the player is to put the pieces in order to form a straight line. In Brazil, the game is called "jogo da velha" and in Holland it''s called tic tac tol."
I'm wonder if it has something to do with step over the crack brake your toe? Nope that's not right either (staring off into the middle space).
