Is there much love for big old school American STATION WAGONS built from the 50's thru the 80's?
Just wondered if there are a lot people who like old American station wagons with the fake wood grain panels on the sides and the ones that sometimes have the funny third seats way in the back, cars models such as Country Squires, Vista Cruisers and the like?
My family had a 1985 Ford Country Squire wagon with a third seat and fake wood grain on the sides, and in the Seventies a AMC wagon with fake wood sides that was very fast.
My best friend's Mom had a Vista Crusier wagon with the plexiglass roof bubble, and a Aunt had a Buick Roadmaster wagon with the plexiglass roof and fake wood sides as well.
Anyone else have or had one of these type cars, and do you think there is much love for these cars in a SUV and Minivan filled world of 2007?
I was never that much into them, probably because I never road in one and the ones I saw were always rusting and a little abused. I guess that means it was a good vehicle. Also, I was only in minivans and I thought they were kind of neat.
Your not the only one who's a fan of these though. I've read on automotive forum websites people's posts regarding the good old fashioned station wagon and there are a lot of people who have a soft spot for them. I've read online that a lot of people don't really care for the crossover terminology CUV when many of these CUV's are really the latest form of station wagons. Example, the Ford Freestyle/Taurus X.
