How to disable seatbelt alarm on Acura Integra 1993?
My car has a passive restrain system with automatic shoulder belts. The problem is that the motor that moves the belt on the passanger side got stuck. So the reminder light stays on and the chime is sounding ALL THE TIME while driving. This is very annoying although I'm getting used to it. I guess I just need to replace the motor but how do I disable the chime in the meantime? Thank you in advance for your answers.
I tried pulling the fuses one by one and none of the disabled the chime. And yes, I always make sure my passanger wears at least the lab belt which works fine. The shoulder belt got stuck open, so I removed the belt so it won't be evident that the shoulder belt is not being worn. Trust me, I'll fix it but the chime is driving me nuts.
It's stuck down? Be careful with that. Make sure you wear your lap belt when the shoulder belt is on. People were breaking their necks and/or getting decapitated when they didn't put on their lap belt. But anyhow, good luck getting someone to tell you how to disable that. Mechanics can get in trouble for telling someone how to disable a safety feature. I know it's dumb given the situation, but that's how it is.
It won't be in the owner's manual. Since it's a safety feature, they don't want you to know how to disable it.
