The Honda Civic - The futuristic family car
One cannot expect more luxury than that introduced by the New Honda Civic. It is somewhat upgraded version of Honda city. The car has a wonderful aerodynamic body which appeals to the customer. It is the eighth generation Civic and all-new in India, rolling out from the Honda Siel Cars plant located in Greater Noida. The Honda Civic has been voted as the 'Car of the year' for 2007. The Civic, after its launch in the US, comes with some tweaks to suit the Indian road. It is powered by 1.8L i-VTEC engine, comes with higher ground clearance and stiffer suspension. With top-of-the-line technology, sporty looks, choice of automotive and manual transmissions, the Civic is bound to please the Indian taste palates.
The Civic places itself in the entry-level D Segment and competes with Corolla and the Skoda Octavia. The Civic design is youthful and trendy in comparison with its competitors. The Civic comes in two choices: Petrol and Hybrid. 1.8E and 1.8V are the petrol versions and 1.3L is the hybrid version. The 1.8E comes with a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the 1.8V comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid engine comes with Continuous variable transmission.
The Honda Civic is the futuristic family car!
With its peppy engine and buttery smooth transmission, the Honda Civic comes with a high-tech and revolutionary 1.8L inline-4 engine that cranks out 130 bhp at 6,300 rpm and a peak torque of 172 Nm is achieved at 4,300 rpm. The incorporation of variable timing control for the single overhead cam enhances engine performance at high speed. The all-aluminium engine is ultra smooth and almost silent at low revs. Equipped with the 5-speed manual or an optional automatic (1.8V variant only), the Civic is swift. The power graph remains stable between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm, and that is when power is essential for a stop-and-go drive. It is a muscle engine and roars at high revs.
Under the hood, the Hybrid version sports a high-power 1.3 liter, four-cylinder petrol engine, which forks out a powerful 94 bhp @ 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 122 Nm @ 4,600 rpm. This hybrid power is coupled with a Continuous variable transmission.
The all-independent suspension with McPherson Strut in front and coil over double wishbone with torsion bar in the rear is excellent during high speeds and highway drives, but not a very good mate for bad roads. The suspension system is tweaked for minimal body roll during tight cornering. The all disc brakes with brake assist give instant halt to the mighty car. The power-assisted, collapsible steering is precise and takes speed of the car into consideration for inputs. With all these smartly tuned features, the ride quality of the Civic takes driving to a new horizon.

How Do I Know What Torsion Spring to Buy for My Garage Door
Most of us believe that garage doors are simple from beginning to end. After all, how hard is it to have a garage door that you can roll up? It seems simple, but, in fact, it definitely is not. Garage doors work by having a perfect blend of items, including springs and rollers, which allow the heavy garage door to lift gently. And if your garage door stops working, you may suddenly wonder how you're going to get your garage door to work again, or if you're going to have to purchase a whole new garage door. Quite often the purchase of a new garage door can be avoided by changing up a few things, and one of those things is the springs.
Garage doors have two different types of springs. One is known as torsion springs, and the other is extension springs. Both of these springs are used to counterbalance the weight of the garage door, allowing you to easily lift something that should be too heavy for the average person to lift. How can you tell which type of spring you have? Look directly above the garage door. If you've got a spring that stretches and contracts as the garage door opens and closes, and that is mounted above the horizontal tracts, you have an extension spring. If, however, you've got a spring that is mounted on the bar that is directly above the garage door and that winds and unwinds as the garage door opens and closes, you've got a torsion spring.
If you need to change out your torsion springs for your garage door, you first need to know how to find the right one. Unfortunately, all torsion springs aren't the same, and buying the wrong one will give you nothing but grief. There are four dimensions that determine how much the spring can lift. The first is the length of the torsion spring. This can be easily measured. The next is the inside diameter. This can also be fairly easily measured using your tape measure. Next is the wire size, which needs to be measured, and finally is what is known as wind.
This can all get very confusing, which is why many people choose to purchase the same type of torsion spring that came with their garage door. You can find what type of torsion spring your garage door uses fairly easily online, using a search engine or a site that specializes in selling torsion springs.
Replacing any type of spring on a garage door can be a dangerous proposition, as the springs are under tension. If you don't use the correct tools and are not careful, injuries may occur. Make sure, before you do any changing of the springs on your own, that you have read how to do it and that you are using the right tools in a very safe manner. Changing torsion springs can be tricky so calling a qualified professional garage door service company is always a good idea.
