Car Donation and Tax Refunds?
I'm seventeen and I've wanted a Mopar (late 60's early 70's plymouth or dodge muscle car) for quite some time now. Most prices are too high. I wanted to know if I could get one of the sellers to donate their car to me and get every cent they lost back in a tax refund without having to go through a charity organization to do it. Is that possible?
Two problems with this.
One, you are not a charitable corporation as defined by the IRS (501(c)(3) status).
Two, the donor, even if you were, wouldn't get "every cent" back. It is an itemized deduction, not a tax credit.
