What is the bracket, with rubber, that attaches with torque arm, at transmission, on '90 camaro?
I have a '90 Camaro RS. There is a bracket that attaches to torque arm at transmission. The rubber for bracket is gone. Car has serious vibration, and I am wondering if this bracket needs to be replaced. My uneducated guess is that it is there to give support to torque arm. I have asked at several auto parts stores, and even a chevy dealership. Not only have I asked, but I have even showed them the part that I removed from camaro. Can anyone tell me what this part is called, what it is for, if the rubber being gone would cause this vibration, and where I can get a replacement?

The part you need is called the torque arm bushing. If you have the metal bracket the rubber fits into, then I wouldn't go to the junkyard looking for the bushing. Most JYs will charge $10-15 for the bracket and bushing, and it will be a worn, maybe cracked bushing.
Go aftermarket. Buy a polyurethane bushing. Only $12-15 for a brabd new poly bushing.
GM used 2 torque arms, so before picking up bushing you need to look at your arm..
Where the TQ arm slides into bracket/bushing there will b e a flat side then a side with "lips". Look which way the lips are facing.. Towards transmission/driveshaft, or away from trans/drive shaft..
You can probbly pick up the poly bushing at a local advance auto. auto zone, pep boys.

Oh yeah, the poly bushing will help put more power to the wheels, better traction, and less vibes than the stock type rubber bushing.
