1993 Buick Riviera Questions?
The car over-heats within minutes after I start driving. Is there a fuse that needs to be replaced to turn the fans on? The fans in front and back of the radiator won't come on even when it runs to the correct temperature . I was told there is a switch that might need replacing also. When I bought the part (radiator fan switch) it didn't show under the hood exactly where to place it in the box. There were 5 plugs in the slots and about 7 empty slots! I had no clue which slot to try or test! It's a 3.6 ltr v6 and the engine is sideways. I love this car and really want to avoid spending a ton of money on it. Thanks for any answers! If you need more info let me know. I probably described the problem poorly. Thanks!
More details : Freeze plugs have been replaced due to leaking, thermostat has ben replaced, radiator has been flushed, and spark plugs have been replaced along with the wires that connect to them.
Sounds like a cooling fan problem and probably have a relay or fuse gone bad.......or possibly a cooling temp sensor. You can go to any GM dealer parts dept and they will provide you with a wiring diagram and schematics for the cooling system fans.
