1993 Ford F350 - Duel Fuel Tanks & Fuel Injection 460 engine - problem with Fuel line/pump?
Front tank fuel pump bad, so when I put the fuel in the rear tank, within I would say 3 to 4 minutes the fuel is pushed up into the front pump. Because the pump in tank one is bad, car shuts down. Is there a way to bypass this from happening, what is causing it, could it be the switch on the front on what. Need complete details on how to band-aid this problem as soon as possible. Already cleaned fuel injectors, replaced the fuel filter, as well as spark plugs. Trying to avoid the expense of a new fuel pump at this very moment.
This is great, and I heading out to take a look, is there any possible way someone might be able to point me in the general area on where the selector valve would be mounted on the frame?
Replace the selector valve, that is mounted on the frame. Ford had an issue with the valve sticking in them, and it would route the return fuel to the wrong tank. I have actually seen them overflow the other tank, and have fuel running out of it while driving....in fact there was a recall on them at one point, I believe, you may wish to call a dealer and have them run your vin#, you may even get it fixed free!!
